Josh Williams was performing the Bluegrass song “Mordecai” when a little bird decided to land on his guitar! It’s not clear if the bird actually sang along, it might be he just wanted to get closer so he could hear better, or maybe he had a backstage pass and got ahead of himself! At any rate, Williams kept his cool and continued the song to the end, except he couldn’t play his guitar! Check the excitement around 1:45 in the video!

These things are funny!
Crowboarding!
You’ve probably already seen this video, but if not, this is a Russian crow that has figured out how to “snowboard” down a snowy roof using some kind of miniature inner-tube-looking thing!
According to an article in Scientific American, “it’s further evidence that corvids (along with some species of parrots and other social birds) appear to engage in play-like behaviors.”
C’mon, guys, this bird is not just “playing,” he’s shredding that slope like a pro! Enjoy the video!
Babies make fun of Daddy’s sneeze
Example #4,215 of “things you should be careful doing or saying around babies.”
I have this funny feeling Mommy and Daddy haven’t heard the last of this from their little mimics, especially with Mommy laughing at them…
UPDATE: looks like they took down their video, I guess they either got too many people watching, or they just didn’t want to show it anymore. Anyway, the video has been removed.
Quickest personality test
Here, for your enjoyment, a very quick test to determine your personality:
“Alien cathouse for sci-fi nerds.” Oh, brother…
So, a “brothel owner” (euphemism) in Nevada is going to open a science fiction-themed “alien cathouse” to prey on the nerd market. I guess this means that there are enough nerds out there with enough money to justify the effort, and that being a (desperate) science-fiction fan is at least as socially acceptable to the “market” as businessmen are. Personally, I’ve never really thought about re-creating Captain Kirk’s exploits with a bored hooker in green make-up and deelyboppers, but I have no doubt that this will be a very popular “attraction” to a certain segment of the nerd population.
Now, if this guy is half the businessman I suspect, I wouldn’t be surprised if he decides to sponsor a science fiction convention in Las Vegas or somewhere convenient…
Happy Nyan Year!
Hope your New Year is a great one, and to start off on a happy note:
Oh, oh, oh! Otamatone!
Oh, Japan, please don’t ever change! Without you, we’d all be less confused, less puzzled, and far less freaked out, so just keep doing what you’re doing!
Okay, these guys are just way too good…
I stumbled across these guys when I saw this really neat video on Youtube. “The Piano Guys” are a couple of musicians that re-do popular music with piano and cello and other instruments. They use them to re-interpret the music as well, as in the “Cello Wars” video, which also has fun with the cello artist playing both the “good” Jedi and the “evil” Sith on dueling cellos. Look for the appearance of “Darth Vader”…
One of the other videos I saw had the two guys entertaining a group of older folks at a retirement community, playing the “Linus and Lucy” theme from the “Peanuts” TV specials. The guys have a lot of fun getting into the music, and the residents get into it, too. It’s sweet to see the smiles on their faces, and watch them get up and dance! It’s even better when you see the congo line, including some of the staff!
They’re looking to raise money to release their first album, and for other projects, so if you’ve a mind to, check out their site. Or, look them up on Facebook.
