Nerdtour 2025: The last hurrah?

So, for my (possibly) last trip to Japan, I decided to go wild, economically, by spending 2 months in Japan, staying at my favorite apartment in Monzen-nakacho, Tokyo. I say “go wild” because I had to be able to pay for airfare, 2 months rent in Tokyo, plus 2 months rent for my apartment in Alexandria. Fortunately I had enough frequent flyer miles to use to get me to Tokyo, so all I needed to do was to be able to pay for 2 apartments! Easy-peasy, I have savings, and I’m getting enough Social Security to pay for both, and I make a ton of dividends off of my IRA and brokerage account.

What I didn’t count on was hurting my leg halfway through the second month, which laid me up for almost 2 weeks, and prevented me from really getting to go where I wanted to for the remainder of the trip. I may or may not be able to do this again, definitely not for 2 months, but possibly a 1 month stay in 2027, that would be 20 years since I first went to Japan.

At any rate, here are the (sadly insufficient) posts I made during my time there in Spring of 2025. Lots of pictures, not enough!
